Malton Museum

A new home for Malton Museum, on the site of the former Fleece Inn in the marketplace at the centre of Malton, North Yorkshire. The Grade II listed frontage is conserved — its Edwardian inglenook and twelfth-century stonework retained — and a new building is set behind it on the burgage plots that originally formed the inn. The rear elevation reads as three connected gables, drawn from the plot rhythm and from the gabled forms of the historic town. Materials are brick and timber. Design proposals at consultation stage, 2025.
