Park Walk
A Chelsea townhouse remade through the removal of structure rather than its addition. A seven-metre void cut between basement and ground floor draws daylight deep into the plan and connects the three floors of the house as a single spatial composition. A walk-on glass rooflight at first floor extends the move upwards. The work is a retrofit — the existing concrete and steel frame retained and upgraded — undertaken in pursuit of long-term value over short-term economics. Completed 2018.
